Postino Wine Cafe - Gilbert, AZ

C and I are always looking for restaurants that allow dogs so that we can take Mia along. While I've eaten at Postino Wine Bar before, I hadn't been to their location in Gilbert, so we tried it out.  It has a great patio, that's perfect for relaxing and enjoying the weather or taking your pup!  I started with a mimosa... it was Saturday and it sounded like a good idea to start my weekend right.
I opted to try something other than the panini selection since I had tried those before, and the bruschetta sounded perfect.
There are many options to pick from, I chose fresh mozzarella tomato basil, salami with pesto and warm artichoke spread.  All were delicious, I think the salami was my favorite.
C ordered one of their panini's.  I would say this is what they're most known for.  The bread is so fresh and tasty, and they have interesting meat and cheese combinations.  You also get a choice of salad or homemade chips, both are terrific, but the salad is definitely my favorite.  The best thing is the sandwiches are so big it usually ends up being two meals!

Postino's has a couple locations around the Phoenix area, the two I've seen are great spaces.  Really relaxed and trendy.  Plus, the food is all great, you really can't order anything bad off their menu.  If you get a chance to check them out, please do!  Have fun :)

Arrogant Butcher - Phoenix, AZ

C and I ventured to downtown Phoenix to try out The Arrogant Butcher for dinner one night and were not disappointed.  The menu is very diverse and the atmosphere was really cool.  I started with one of their interesting drinks: The After School Special, raspberry infused tequila, ginger agave, lime salt mixed with Modelo beer.  The taste was really different, and it was a bit strong for my taste, but I enjoy trying new drinks so it was still fun!
They have daily oyster specials and C had to try a few.  I'm not an oyster fan, but he really enjoyed them.
Dinner came with fresh bread and huge garlic cloves. I can never have enough garlic!
I ordered the crab stuffed chicken which came with potatoes, spinach and lemon au jus.  It was really delicious! The breading on the chicken was crunchy and tasted great mixed with the crab.  Not going to lie, I was wishing the plate was a little bit bigger, it was so good I could have kept eating!
C ordered the sweet potato tortelli, which came with mushrooms, spinach and was topped with hazelnuts.  I was too consumed with my meal to take a bite of his, but he really liked it and he's a tough one to please.

I really enjoyed this place, the atmosphere was really fun and it was nice to venture out of our normal stomping grounds and try somewhere new.  I hope to be back again very soon... hopefully they'll have plenty of stuffed chicken for me.

Have a great weekend!

Matt's Big Breakfast - Phoenix, AZ

Matt's Big Breakfast  has been my favorite find since I've moved to the Phoenix area thus far.  It's downtown Phoenix and C and I decided to venture there since we hadn't really been outside of the Tempe area.  I was surprised with how well taken care of the area was, and how clean.  For a downtown, it was really nice!  We had to wait outside for a while before we got a table, so if you can't stand the heat I would recommend waiting a few months.  As soon as I tried the juice the wait was worth it though.  Freshly squeezed orange juice for C, and it was honestly freshly squeezed.  Tastes so different from what you can buy at the store!
I tried the honey lemonade and it was delicious.  I wish they had free refills because I would have drank about three of these huge glasses.
I ordered the daily special.  It was eggs with bacon, spinach and feta cheese.  Served with home fries and a slice of toast.  The whole meal was delicious.  My favorite part was the bread, and I unfortunately don't have a picture of it!  It was homemade wheat bread, and unbelievably tasty.
C ordered "The Five Spot" breakfast which was two eggs, bacon, cheese and onions on a bagel.  I was too full to try it but he ate every bite!
Lastly they had sausage stuffed with maple syrup gooey stuff.  We ordered it just because it sounded so unique.  We were right, and it was delicious.

I am for sure going to be back.  Everything we had was fresh and delicious.  The menu and specials were creative and all must be tried.  If you're in the area please make sure you check MBB out!  See you back here tomorrow.
