If you are looking for a non-fat, vegan, organic, zero calorie brownies... these aren't it. These are, however, worth every sinful bite. Sometimes you need to indulge, and these are the perfect brownies for the job!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray and set aside. Place butter in a medium saucepan on the stove. Heat over medium heat until butter is melted.
Remove from heat and stir in sugar and vanilla extract.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in cocoa until well blended.
Add flour, baking powder and salt and stir until combined.
Chop up Twix bars into bite size pieces.
Stir in the candy bars chunks into the batter and pour into the prepared pan.
Drizzle caramel evenly over the brownies. Bake for 35 minutes until the brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan. A toothpick entered into the middle should come out clean.
Cool brownies completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cool, cut into squares and serve. I made these for a co-workers birthday and they were eaten very fast! The caramel and crunch from the Twix bars take these brownies to a whole other amazing level! Enjoy, and happy Monday :)
