It is in fact my birthday, I am officially 26 years old... and I am officially not where I thought I would be at 26. I know, I know "welcome to the real world," well I like fantasy land better. In an effort to further the "not where I thought I'd be" feeling I decided to meet my good friend Gi in San Francisco for the long weekend. I've never been to California so I am beyond excited!! There will be posts with pictures of the area, and of course the food, soon.
I do have a favor to ask of all of you readers, and since it's my birthday I guess that means you have to help me out :) I am thrilled to be a part of "Bloggers Bake for Hope." Please check out their website here. It's a nationwide virtual bake sale, where all of the profits go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. As you can guess, I am going to be baking a couple desserts that will go on auction May 4-6th, 2011. You (and everyone you're going to tell) will be able to bid on desserts that are listed, and if you win, one of the fabulous blogging bakers will send you dessert they baked. How great of an idea is that? The bakers are taking on the cost of baking supplies and shipping costs, so all the money you bid goes right to the foundation.
Here are the items I'll be donating - it's possible I'll donate more, but I'll keep you posted.
Banana Muffins
Nutella Cookies
Best Chocolate Brownies Ever
Here comes the favor... you know a lot of people, I know you do. Please let them know about this great event, and convince them to participate. Helping others is what we're all here for, and I promise you will feel very proud after you help out. Plus, lets be honest, you get some yummy baked goods out of the deal!
Again, the website site is http://bloggersbakeforhope.blogspot.com/?m=1. Please check it out and forward to as many people as possible.
Thank you in advance, I appreciate your help in spreading the word. I'll post the information again as we get closer to May 4th when the "bake sale" begins.
I wish I could have all my friends, family and loved ones physically with me in California this weekend, but I'll have to settle with them being in my thoughts. I love you all, thank you for all you contribute to my life! Have a great weekend everyone, and if you care to post comments of tales and tribulations of getting older, please do - as long as you're older than 26!
That's a really cool idea! I'll definitely check it out :)
